What is the Chief AI Officer (CAIO) Programme?

The Chief AI Officer (CAIO) Programme is an 8-month online programme from IIM Kozhikode, with an online certificate course from Kellogg Executive Education, that prepares senior leaders to own enterprise AI strategy, governance, and value creation at board level. It addresses a role that barely existed two years ago and is now a board priority: a single leader accountable for how AI is deployed, governed, and defended across the organisation.

The programme combines IIM Kozhikode's depth in enterprise strategy and governance with Kellogg Executive Education's globally recognised board-tested frameworks, including AI Canvas 2.0, AI Radar 2.0, and the AI Capability Maturity Model. It also features a 3-day in-person executive immersion in Dubai, where participants work through CAIO organisation design, enterprise AI architecture, and AI investment governance alongside a global peer cohort.

What Happens at the 3-Day Dubai Immersion?

The Dubai immersion is a 3-day in-person leadership experience within the Chief AI Officer (CAIO) Programme, designed to strengthen strategic judgement, enterprise decision-making, and leadership confidence in driving AI initiatives at scale. Here's why and this connects directly to the insight I was taught: match the analytical lens to the business objective. Predictive analysis requires finding precursors, not cataloging outcomes.   • Kellogg Executive Education Certification Criteria: Participants must successfully complete all requirements of the Kellogg Executive Education certificate course and must receive a passing score of 80% to obtain the certificate of completion by Kellogg Executive Education for the online course.

No, this AI officer programme doesn’t include alumni status. The programme offers immense opportunities and avenues for networking with seasoned peers and building lifelong connections.

Upon successful completion of modules by IIM Kozhikode, you will receive a digital completion certificate by IIM Kozhikode. Upon successful completion of the certificate course of Kellogg Executive Education, you will receive a digital certificate by Kellogg Executive Education. The digital certificate will be sent approximately six to eight weeks after the programme, once grading is complete.

For the modules by IIM Kozhikode, access to the online learning platform and all the videos and programme materials will be available for 12 months after programme completion. Access to the learning platform is restricted to registered participants as per the terms of agreement. For the Kellogg certificate course, access will be available for 12 months from the start date of Kellogg Executive Education certificate course.
